sharks and sunsets

This is another nice sunset photo from my window. I can never get enough of these.

For the last two weeks, its been cold-ish and windy as Fall sets in. However, on Friday it was unseasonably hot, so Nava and I thought it would be a good idea to spend one of the last hot days at the beach.

I was asleep on the sand when sirens started going off on the beach. The "Shark Spotters" had spotted a shark in the water and raised the black flag to alert the surfers. They were pretty hard-core about getting people out of the water. The spotters were running up and down the beach in orange vests blowing whistles and screaming, which was perhaps more scary to swimmers than the threat of a potential shark attack.

The pictures below are the surfers coming out of the water.

On an unrelated note, later this night, we went to a braii that was at a friend's house near the beach. We ate butternut squash from the grill, looked at stars, and smelled the ocean. It was very nice.
