Rhodes Memorial

Early this morning, Nava and I went for a hike up Devil's Peak to Rhodes Memorial. I will give the short story behind Rhodes Memorial so as not to digress into a rant about ego and imperialism:

Cecil Rhodes arrived at Cape Town in the 1800's and basically tried (with success) to claim everything for himself with little to no regard for the original inhabitants of the area. He had a fascination with lions and it's thought that he saw himself as a sort of untamed lion. He built this memorial on the side of Devil's Peak for himself- "for his genius"-as the memorial states.
